"You are basketball" Farewell Kobe
Are we not all boo hooing over the inevitable retirement of Kobe Bryant? If you're like anyone in my home, you are torn to pieces by the news. I've been reading well wishes and comments about it via twitter and instagram. My hubby also posted his own ode to Kobe. As silly as it may seem, this is a very emotional time for Lakers and Kobe Bryant fans. Since I have watched basketball Kobe was always present. I had a crush on him and he was the reason I even started watching.
My mother took me to a game once and we had fantastic floor seats and I was able to gaze upon him for an entire game. It was glorious. But seriously, a lot of us love Kobe. And those that don't, love to hate him. My mom sent me an article today, Dear Kobe: A Letter From A Celtics Fan. Wow, I am impressed. I got all the feelings reading this piece by Jonathan Jacobson. He truly gets it. Kobe has been basketball for so many and he will be missed not only by those who hold him in high regard, but to those that take joy in rooting against him.
No one can deny his gift, his dedication and his huge impact on the game. Oh Kobe, I may never watch another Lakers game again.
