Homeschooling so far: Week 3
I cannot believe we are already on week 3 of our preschool curriculum. I demonstrated one of the beauties of homeschooling by posting Malakai's first day pic which we took on vacation.. At Marriot Shawdow Ridge in beautiful Palm Desert, CA. Yup, his first week of homeschool officially started while we were on our weeklong family trip. I packed up a few of our supplies and a couple of books along with our swimsuits and we had an awesome week!
We are currently using www.ABCJesusLovesMe.com curriculum and work books along with lessons on Www.ABCMouse.com. Both have been working fabulously. He's learning Bible basics along with everything he should be learning about at this age, and watching him retain and repeat the information is amazing. It never gets old.
I'm not one to lesson plan, at least not yet. I'm overwhelmed just thinking about it, so I love using ABC Jesus Loves Me. You can purchase or print the worksheets needed and the weekly activities are all there for you. Easy peasy, I love it! It's all free if you decide to print yourself and use the curriculum online but ordering your materials is also simple to do. I actually use the lessons on my iPad and I purchased the work book. Whatever your preference.
Homeschooling can sound overwhelming but time spent doing a little research and you'll be more than happy with the fun stuff you'll find, and the benefits of taking control of your child's education are truly priceless. It was important to me that our curriculum be a Bible based one but there are many curriculums on the market that are non faith based if that's your choice.
I don't know it all. I am still learning and getting in the grove of things but keep up with me if you'd like to know more or get some insight on how this mama does it. Just don't judge too harshly, I'm a first timer!
