Enchanted by A Tale as Old as Time
Wow. The animated movie, Beauty and The Beast, was one I saw almost every single day in my childhood. My mother and cousins can totally vouch for me. It was only alternated with The Little Mermaid. Earlier tonight, My family and I were fortunate enough to have been invited to a screening of the new live action Beauty and the Beast in 3D. The little Nikki in me was screaming with excitement.
From beginning to end, I had chills. I know every word and lyric in this movie and remember acting it out in my living room as a child and here I was, watching this masterpiece with my sons. A new generation finding a new found love for this tale. So nostalgic for me. This movie is visually stunning and contains both favorite tunes and new ones. It's simply beautiful. Did I mention the cast is out of this world? Just wow!
My husband Cris works in film and he said he loved watching it in 3D, "It puts you in a movie that we've only been able to witness in 2D animation". I have to agree. I'm usually not a fan of 3D movies but this was fun to watch! My 4 year old son enjoyed it, he's watched the animated version and loves it as well, although he did think the live action one was "a little long". Thank you tot attention span.
Overall, we enjoyed the film and I very much look forward to watching it again and I most certainly can't wait for the rest of the world to see it. I'm also secretly hoping we will be seeing more live-action films from Disney...
About a mermaid, perhaps?
Just a thought.
Catch Beauty and the Beast in theaters this Friday, March 17!
*While I did receive complementary tickets to this screening, as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.
