The Shepherd's Treasure + Journey to the true meaning of Christmas

It's December 1st! That means that we are embarking on a Christmas journey to the true meaning of Christmas with our very own tiny Shepherd. This morning Malakai woke up to our shepherd, who he's named Ray, under our Christmas tree complete with today's advent card, the story book and a sweet treat. Malakai was so amped. Watching his excitement while reading the card and book made me even more excited for the days to come and all of the opportunities I have to surprise him this month.

The story is sweet and the illustrations are beautiful. We are captivated already. I have to say I love the fact that a calendar with ideas for the shepherd's placement is included. They are both lovely, simple and easy to achieve. As a homeschooling mom with a new baby in the house, I appreciate the ideas and easy-to-follow directions. I'm sure I won't be the only parent that would see the included calendar as a definite plus. I am very happy to be starting this new tradition in our home that helps me set the tone for my sons and demonstrate the real reason for the season, Jesus.
