Young Whit & The Traitor’s Treasure + Giveaway

Our family goes through a lot of books. Surprisingly we’ve never read anything from the Adventures in Odyssey series, that is until now. Young Whit & The Traitor’s Treasure is a book set smack dab in the Great Depression, where a very curious 9 year old is about to discover some sinister secrets and explore the contents of an old trunk. Treasure perhaps?

 ”When God handed out curiosity, he gave you a second helping, Johnny! And a third of mischief!” 

Truer words have never been spoken. And that quote is exactly how I’d describe my two boys. My oldest was intrigued by the cover art instantly. He asked questions about the “pirate chest”, he said “this book would make for a good bed time story for a few days.”

Young Whit captivated my little one. He’s in the first grade and with a little bit of help, was able to read along. He enjoyed it. It even started a discussion about The Great Depression, which is something we haven’t touched on in our homeschool. Anything that sparks curiosity for learning new things is a win in my book!
